The cire.pl news service quoted Mr. Jacek Krawiec, Orlen President, who in an interview granted to "Dziennik Gazeta Prawna" said that the Company is planning to continue its shale gas exploration programme in Poland.
“We have confirmed that shale formations contain the gas, but we are still unable to give an exact date of launching commercial production. In my opinion production technologies would be adapted to Poland's geological conditions much faster if the operations are conducted not only by Polish companies, such as Orlen or PGNiG”, said Orlen President in the interview.
President Krawiec has emphasized that it will take longer than initially expected to adapt the technology following the withdrawal of international companies, but in his opinion the emergence of a technology for normal commercial production is only a matter of time – the daily wrote.
