- Hydraulic fracturing
Technological process of reservoir rock stimulation to improve production rate of a well. Large volumes of pressurized fracturing fluids (usually water with proppant and chemical additives) are sequentially injected to the well so as to induce, maintain or enlarge fractures in the rock. Hydraulic fracturing is intended to unlock the gas or enhance well productivity.
1. Organic chemical compounds that contain solely carbon and hydrogen atoms in their structure; a key component of crude oil and natural gas.
2. Crude oil, natural gas and their natural derivatives, as well as coalbed methane, except for methane occurring as associated mineable.
