Unconventional hydrocarbon accumulations search for term

Oil and gas accumulations in micro-porous non-permeable rocks and other atypical reservoirs. They include: shale oil, shale gas, tight gas, tight oil, coalbed methane, tar sands and gas hydrates. The latest technologies, including stimulation jobs, must be applied in order to produce unconventional hydrocarbons. Technology for commercial production of some of them, e.g. gas hydrates, is still to be developed.
