Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (Polish Oil and Gas Joint Stock Company) started exploration operations in the “Tomaszów Lubelski” Concession (Southeast Poland) with spudding in its "Majdan Sopocki" Well, which is being drilled under a cooperation agreement of March 2014 between PGNiG SA and Chevron Polska Energy Resources Sp. z o.o.
PGNiG SA is the drilling operator in charge of all operations.
Awareness meetings with the residents of the Susiec Commune, in which the well is located, were held and a road of access to the drill site was built prior to the beginning of exploration.
The "Majdan Sopocki" Well is to be drilled to the target depth of 3 200 metres by Exalo Drilling S.A. Company of PGNiG Capital Group. It will take approximately 70 days to drill the well.
